The keel has been laid for the seventh livestock carrier being built for the Dutch shipping company Vroon at COSCO Guangdong Shipyard, P.R. China.
The ship will be named Gudali Express and it is the last in a series of seven livestock carriers being built at the shipyard for Vroon.
“Four of these newbuilding livestock carriers are already trading successfully, with a fifth vessel, Gloucester Express, scheduled for delivery later this year. The final two vessels, Greyman Express and Gudali Express, will join the livestock express fleet in 2016,” Vroon said.
These revolutionary livestock carriers are “next‑generation” livestock vessels, boasting a cargo capacity of approximately 4,500 sqm and a cruising range of around 18,000 NM.
They are fitted with animal-welfare facilities exceeding Australian (AMSA) regulations and incorporate a revolutionary bow designed to ensure fuel savings while maintaining high speeds and maximum comfort for cargo and crew.
